Since 2016, Woodward Productions has been bringing world-class theatre to audiences in Queensland, Australia, and internationally. With a passion for "gateway theatre," we aim to attract new audience members and tell stories that reflect our diverse Australian communities.

Our Productions
We are proud of our extensive repertoire, which includes over 20 musicals, concerts, and plays. Our standout works include the thrilling Sherlock Holmes - The Mystery of the Valkyrie, the comedic hit A Very Naughty Christmas (returning for its eighth consecutive year in Australia and London in 2024), the bold Plied and Prejudice, and Caroline O’Connor’s concert From Broadway With Love. Other notable productions include Boys of Sondheim (Brisbane and Sydney), Weathering Well (24-date regional QLD tour), and the Australian premiere of Yank! A WWII Love Story as part of Brisbane’s MELT Festival.

Recently, we successfully concluded the Australian tour of The Woman in Black, which welcomed over 75,000 audience members across eight cities. We also serve as General Managers and Executive Producers for Prospero Arts, overseeing productions like Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons at QPAC, and we are thrilled to collaborate on the Australian premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher with esteemed international production houses.

Meet Our Team

Founder, Producer and Director - Alexander Woodward

Briar Franks – Producer and Associate General Management

Briar is a senior arts leader and producer with over a decade of experience delivering professional live theatre across Australasia and internationally.

She has held senior roles spanning venue operations, production and company management, performing arts education and the talent industry, working across Wellington, Melbourne and London. Briar has led operations for a leading musical theatre training academy and served as a board member and producer for an independent music theatre company, executive producing full-scale musicals and cabarets from concept through to season close.

A graduate of Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English, she brings a deep understanding of the artform alongside a sharp operational and strategic lens.

Producer and Associate GM - Briar Franks

Alex Woodward – Founder & Lead Producer, Woodward Productions

Alex Woodward is an accomplished producer and theatre-maker with nearly two decades of experience in Australia’s performing arts industry. Now at 38, Alex leads Woodward Productions with a focus on creating and touring gateway theatre experiences that attract new audiences to live performance through engaging, accessible, and innovative work.

Alex has worked extensively across Australia as a lead producer and general manager, with a growing international presence through the export of original Australian productions. Alex and Woodward Productions are now proud to be Executive Producers and General Managers for Trafalgar Entertainment in Australia.

Sophie Watkins - Associate Producer and General Management

Sophie Watkins – Associate Producer and General Management


Sophie holds a degree in Fine Arts majoring in Technical Production and has spent the last five years working as a Stage Manager and Technician. Her career so far has seen her building a diverse skillset while working consistently across Brisbane and touring the country.

Now pivoting to the role of Associate Producer and General Manager at Woodward Productions, Sophie is eager to apply her knowledge and skills in a new capacity. With a strong foundation in theatre making and a keen interest in expanding her professional horizons, Sophie is excited to join the Woodward Productions team.

Emily Corkeron - Finance Officer and Production Coordinator

Emily Corkeron - Finance Officer and Production Coordinator

Emily Corkeron joined Woodward Productions in 2026, taking on a dual role spanning finance and production coordination. She brings a rare combination of commercial discipline and performing instinct to the team, having earned her accounting degree while touring nationally as a performer in productions including Beauty and the Beast and An American in Paris.

That background gives Emily a genuine understanding of both sides of the curtain — the spreadsheets that keep a production viable and the realities of life on stage. At Woodward Productions, she helps keep shows on budget and running smoothly, applying her financial training and first-hand industry experience to support the company's growing slate of comedy, theatre, and musical productions.
